Le regard est plus particulièrement porté sur l’appréciation et l’étude de la musique rock des travaux de Richard Hoggart, pionnier du courant, à Simon Frith considérant la musique comme accompagnateur du quotidien. De la conception des cultures populaires aux modes de consommation des jeunes, en passant par la subculture punk étudiée par D. Hedbige, les Cultural Studies opèrent un tournant épistémologique en considérant le rock et plus largement les musiques populaires, comme des objets sociologiques à part entière. |
