| Summary, etc. | RÉSUMÉ L’objet de ce travail est d’analyser l’efficacité d’une procédure d’apprentissage par observa~tion pour l’acquisition d’un éducatif de la course de haies, chez l’enfant. Vingt-cinq enfants débutants dans cette activité, âgés en moyenne de 9 ans 4 mois, ont été répartis en trois groupes : démonstration explicitée d’un modèle correct et pratique physique, démonstration silencieuse d’un modèle correct et pratique physique, pratique physique seule. Le modèle est observé sur vidéo. La tâche est un parcours de 30 m jalonné de cinq haies. Les variables dépendantes sont un score de performance (le temps) et un score technique (le nombre d’intervalles franchis en deux appuis). Les résultats des deux groupes bénéficiant de démonstration sont significativement meilleurs que ceux du groupe contrôle en rétention, sur les deux types de scores. Cependant, ces deux groupes ne diffèrent pas entre eux. Ces résultats démontrent l’efficacité des procédures d’apprentissage par observation pour l’acquisition d’un éducatif de course de haies chez l’enfant débutant dans l’activité. |

| Summary, etc. | Efficiency of observational learning of a hurdles’ skill in 7 to 10 year-old children ABSTRACT The purpose of the present work was to evaluate the efficiency of observational learning for the acquisition of a hurdles’ educational exercise. Twenty-five children of 9 years and 4 months average age, beginner in the activity, were allocated to one of three groups : model~ing with verbal cues and physical practice, silent modeling and physical practice or physical practice only. The model was presented using a video recording. The experimental task was a 30 meters’ race including 5 hurdles. Dependent variables were a performance score, the time needed to complete the race, and a technical score, the number of intervals ran in two steps. Results show that, for the two measures, the two modeling groups perform signifi~cantly better than the control group on the retention test, but do not differ from each other. It is concluded that observational learning is an efficient procedure for teaching this motor skill to children beginning in the activity. |
