Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Fitness centers are sport facilities where a set of relationships grows between individuals and groups, mediated by a structured environment. These relationships reveal the use of a common space and the singular development of social links between participants. This paper presents the result of a study based on an ethnological methodology (participating observation and non-directive interviews) carried out in a fitness center. The aim was to characterize behaviours and to analyse the forms of social link. Results show that practice environment, organization and individuals build a relational dynamics, where the individualization process is at work and where a social link appears, adapted to the expectations of members. |
