| Summary, etc. | RésuméDans les années 1980, la pratique du snowboard en France était porteuse d’une nouvelle idéologie sportive dont la prise de risque est progressivement devenue une notion centrale. Aujourd’hui, les relatives massification et normalisation de cette pratique semblent avoir engendré une banalisation des signes qui lui étaient associés. Se pose alors la question de savoir si cette pratique suscite toujours un sentiment communautaire propre à structurer la perception que ses pratiquants ont du risque en station. En nous appuyant sur la théorie des représentations sociales, et à partir des résultats d’une enquête par questionnaires réalisée en stations auprès d’un millier de pratiquants, nous montrons que le snowboard reste un symbole suffisamment fort pour rassembler ses pratiquants autour d’une appréhension spécifique du risque en stations de sports d’hiver. |

| Summary, etc. | During the eighties, the practice of snowboard in France has conveyed a new sporting ideology gradually making risk a central concept. Nowadays, snowboarding has underwent a standardization and the signs which were associated to it have become common, thus weakening the feeling of belonging to a community. One can wonder if this feeling is able to structure people’s perception of risks at ski resorts. In order to answer this question we conceived a questionnaire based upon the social representations theory, and about a thousand participants filled it in at ski resorts. We have thus shown that snowboard remains a strong symbol able to gather its participants around a specific apprehension of risk at winter sports resorts. |
