| Summary, etc. | La présente réflexion a pour objectif d’analyser les représentations qu’ont les acteurs – voyageurs et populations – du terrorisme et son impact sur l’essor touristique marocain, et, au-delà, sur les projets d’aménagement d’espaces touristiques de grande envergure du fait de stratégies sectorielles engagées depuis plusieurs années. Le Maroc offre un bon exemple de stabilité politique et sociale. C’est un territoire ouvert au tourisme qui a vu, pendant longtemps, sa stratégie politique nationale inclure le tourisme comme secteur prioritaire essentiel à son progrès socio-économique. Cependant, la réussite de son développement reste toujours un « éternel espoir » malgré les nombreux plans de développement mis en place depuis les années 1960. Comment justifier un tel bilan ? Quelles sont les perspectives d’avenir du secteur du tourisme marocain dans un monde perturbé par le terrorisme dit « islamiste » dont l’action prend de l’ampleur dans le temps et dans l’espace ? |

| Summary, etc. | The development of tourism in Morocco: Between national politics and international geopoliticsThe present reflection aims to analyze the representations that human actors (tourists and the local population) have of terrorism and its impact on Morocco’s tourism boom, and, beyond that, on the large-scale tourism development projects that are the realization of sectoral strategies over the last few years. Morocco offers a good example of political and social stability. It is a country open to tourism which has seen, for a long time, its national political strategy include tourism as a priority sector essential to its socio-economic progress. However, the success of its development is still an “eternal hope,” despite the many development plans put in place since the 1960s. How can these results be justified? What are the future prospects of the Moroccan tourism sector in a world disrupted by so-called “Islamist” terrorism whose action is growing in time and space? |
