| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | This article traces the circumstances that lead a son, an academic, far removed from the family business, to succeed his father at the head of a large auditing and accounting business. Through an autoethnographic approach, the symbolic functions of rituals and institutional roles are identified. These roles that the new “leader” assumes to build his legitimacy highlight the profound changes in modes of governance: a rational and technical “organization” in its modern version, dominated by the figure of the father, the postmodern company appears more organic, fraternal, marked by the return of affects and the need for collective emotions, what Durkheim called “social transcendence.” |
