520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | This article bases itself on anthropological work carried out on traditional African societies that present witchcraft as a counterpart of the real world in which it is said to interfere regularly, accounting for its vagaries. The article shows that the presence of this double world has been intensified by the upheavals affecting Africa all along the 20th century. The notion of witchcraft as being part of modernity is posited, and the article points to the fact that witchcraft can be found well beyond the boundaries of the African continent and is linked to the conspiracy theories thriving everywhere in the world. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
