Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | In Traumdeutung, Freud argues that the house is the only typical representation of the whole human body. Architecture would then be the most characteristic representation of the body. Architectural tradition has indeed established a structural homology between the body and buildings. We mean to focus our study on how the identification to a specular image represents a spatial experience which initiates an architectural staging – the staging of the world. The Fall of the House of Usher by Poe tends to substantiate this merging between architecture and body. |
