| Summary, etc. | Le surnom de « Gongora de la psychanalyse » que se donne Lacan dans un de ses écrits recouvre une véritable métaphore et donc une création de sens. Le reproche d’obscurité qui fut adressé, de son temps et plus tard, au poète baroque espagnol Luis de Góngora (1561-1627) et le reproche similaire adressé à Jacques Lacan, ainsi que les arguments en leur défense, se recoupent en bien des points. L’obscurité est pour l’un comme pour l’autre celle d’une profondeur matérielle, plus qu’idéelle, qui naît de la prise en compte, en chaque point du discours, en chaque concept, de l’épaisseur stratifiée de sens que doivent les signifiants à la singularité de leur histoire. |

| Summary, etc. | Stylistic issues about the “Gongora of psychoanalysis”We claim that the nickname « Gongora of the psychoanalysis » – given in the fifties to Jacques Lacan by a part of his public, according to his own account in one of his writings – involves a creation of meaning. The Spanish baroque poet Luis de Góngora (1561-1627) was criticised, in his time and later, for being abstruse and obscure, almost beyond understanding. A similar reproach was directed at Lacan, and the reasons of the critics and the arguments of the defence are very alike, in spite of the huge gap between both writers. For Lacan as for Góngora, the obscurity stems from a material depth, and not from an ideal profundity. Both take into account, at every step of their discourse, the stratified thickness that every element of language owes to the unique peculiarity of its history. |
