| Summary, etc. | Très tôt abandonné par sa mère et délaissé par son père, Virgilio passe enfance et adolescence entre le domicile de ses grands-parents paternels et des foyers où le conduit sa violence qui, d’ailleurs, s’y entretient. Il est marqué, mais différemment, par ces deux absences parentales. Il entretient avec les femmes des rapports jamais durables mais toujours marqués par l’argent et avec les hommes, des amitiés masculines fortes. Sa vie, entrecoupée d’épisodes délirants et violents, va comme elle peut : sed fluctuat nec mergitur... du moins pas totalement. |

| Summary, etc. | Forsaken at an early age by his mother and neglected by his father, Virgilio spent his childhood and adolescence with his paternal great parents or, because of his violence, in children’s homes which, far from curing this violence, did not fail to increase it. His personality is fashioned, although in a different way, by these two kinds of parental lacks. His relations with women are short-lived and always money-driven whereas he entertains with men strong masculine friendships. His life is interspersed with violent and delirious episodes and yet he endures, partially at least: ‘sed fluctuat nec mergitur’. |
