| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa formation ouverte et à distance est généralement perçue comme une modalité hybride, susceptible de s’adapter à tout type de public. Une enquête auprès d’usagers adultes a mis en valeur un phénomène de sélection implicite dû aux caractéristiques mêmes du dispositif. Cette contribution présente : 1) les conditions méthodologiques de l’enquête et l’analyse de ses résultats ; 2) le cadre théorique qui permet de comprendre le phénomène et d’envisager d’autres conceptions de cette réalité sociale ; 3) les propositions dégagées par les auteurs en termes de principes d’action pour le terrain de la formation. |

| Summary, etc. | Open Distance Learning environments are generally considered a hybrid type of training, capable of meeting the needs of all kinds of students. A study conducted on the practices of adult users of such ODL environments brought to light an implicit phenomenon of selection due to features of the training system itself. This paper presents: 1) the methodological aspects of the investigation and results analysis; 2) the theoretical framework used to understand the phenomenon and to envision other conceptualizations of this social reality ; 3) the authors’ proposals for principled action in the field of training. |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenSe piensa habitualmente que la formación a distancia es hetero-génea, capaz de acoger todo tipo de estudiantes. Une encuesta realizada con un público de adultos identifica un procesos de selección implícita que es determinado por las características mismas del sistema de formación. Este artículo presenta: 1) las condiciones metodológicas de la encuesta y el análisis de sus resultados; 2) el marco teórico que permite entender este proceso y estudiar otras concepciones de esta realidad social; 3) las propuestas de los autores en cuanto a principios para la acción en los terrenos de la formación. |
