| Summary, etc. | This article questions the truly political dimension of so-called identity politics. It argues that discrimination and exclusion are never simply the exclusion or repression of this or that identity, but primarily the repression of the antagonism that demands and necessitates that exclusion. All emancipatory political struggles aim at both levels: they aim not simply to include the excluded, but also to transform the underlying social antagonisms that demand and produce these exclusions. The article further links this to the psychoanalytic concept of desire and its ontopolitical rendering in the theory of Afropessimism. The political example discussed is the recent “feminist” uprising in Iran in its non-identitarian dimension, which doesn’t simply fit into the usual Western narrative of freedoms and human rights. |

| Summary, etc. | L’article remet en question la dimension véritablement politique de ce que l’on appelle la politique de l’identité. Il affirme que la discrimination et l’exclusion ne sont jamais simplement l’exclusion ou la répression de telle ou telle identité, mais avant tout la répression de l’antagonisme qui exige et rend nécessaire cette exclusion. Toutes les luttes politiques émancipatrices visent les deux niveaux : elles visent non seulement à inclure les exclus, mais aussi à transformer les antagonismes sociaux sous-jacents qui exigent et produisent ces exclusions. L’article établit un lien avec le concept psychanalytique de désir et sa traduction politique dans la théorie de l’afro-pessimisme. L’exemple politique discuté est le récent soulèvement « féministe » en Iran dans sa dimension non identitaire, qui ne s’inscrit pas simplement dans le récit occidental habituel des libertés et des droits de l’homme. |
