| Summary, etc. | Cet article se propose d’argumenter la nécessité de pratiques réflexives pour les travailleurs sociaux et intervenants sociaux impliqués par les problématiques de personnes associant alcool et sans-abrisme. À partir d’une étude menée pendant un an auprès d’une association parisienne dans un dispositif d’accueil avec alcool pour les personnes sans-abri, il s’agit de mettre en évidence les enjeux sociologiques et les difficultés rencontrés par les travailleurs sociaux et les intervenants sociaux. Partant du constat que l’alcool est majoritairement tabou, souvent objet de conflits dans les équipes et soumis à des représentations sociales et normatives, cet article se focalise sur la dimension réflexive dans le rapport à soi des professionnels et bénévoles avec les usages d’alcool. Dans une société moderne à économie capitaliste, basée notamment sur la culture du vin, il s’agit ainsi d’interroger ce qui « pose problème », en dépassant les cadres normatifs fondés sur des recommandations médicales et hygiénistes. En effet, l’alcool est un produit addictif commun aux sociétés modernes, que ce soit par adhésion ou par rejet de sa consommation, par sobriété ou par excès dans le comportement. Lorsqu’il est associé à la déviance, la délinquance ou au sans-abrisme, l’alcool des personnes sans-abri devient un parangon de stigmatisation et d’exclusion qu’il est intéressant d’explorer avec un regard sociologique dans une approche globale de l’existence de la personne, décalé des approches médicales et psychologiques, souvent hygiénistes et normatives. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper emphasises the need for reflexive practices of social workers involved with people who have alcoholic and homelessness issues. The methodology is based on a one-year study by a Parisian charity that works on a programme for the authorisation of the use of alcohol in their shelters. This highlights the sociological issues and the difficulties experienced by social workers. It first points out that alcohol is generally a taboo. It often causes conflicts in teams because of social representations and norms. This paper is focused on the reflexive dimension in the personal relation of professionals and volunteers to the use of alcohol. In a modern society with a capitalist economy, based on the culture of wine, it aims to question what constitutes a “problem” beyond the normative frameworks based on medical and hygienic recommendations. Indeed, alcohol is an ordinary addictive substance in modern societies, be it in agreement with, or rejection of the use, or as against behavioural or excessive use. Following this, the use of alcohol by homeless people becomes a paragon of stigmatisation and exclusion, which is interesting to explore with a sociological eye in a global approach to the existence of the person, as opposed to a medical and psychological approach which is often hygienist and normative. |
