Pour certains analystes, ce pays semble avoir anticipé les dynamiques récentes du capitalisme contemporain, qui deviennent réalité jusque dans les pays où les régimes de welfare sont institutionnalisés. La métaphore de la « brésilianisation » fait notamment référence à la récurrence des périodes de chômage. L’article discute de la pertinence de ce type de catégories. Pour ce faire, il recourt aux analyses quantitatives des trajectoires d’emploi au Brésil et en France. Si, dans ces deux pays, les liens d’emploi sont effectivement fragilisés, les deux phénomènes ne peuvent être confondus : ils répondent à des constructions distinctes des rapports au travail et s’expriment sous des formes également différentes. |

| Summary, etc. | The « Brazilianisation » of the Western World ? Brazil is an intriguing example of social inequality and a labour market where the lack of job security is predominant. For some analysts, the country is considered as having anticipated the recent dynamics of contemporary capitalism, which are currently felt even in countries where welfare regimes are institutionalised. The metaphor of « Brazilianization » refers in particular to the intensification of periods of unemployment. The article discusses whether such an allusive category is pertinent. To this end, it makes use of the quantitative analyses of employment trajectories in Brazil and France. If, in both countries, employment ties are indeed weakened, this is not to say that the two phenomena can be considered identical ; they correspond to separate constructions of labour relations and take expression in equally different forms. |

| Summary, etc. | ¿La « brasilización » del Occidente ? Brasil es un ejemplo intrigante de desigualdad social y precariedad del mercado de trabajo. Para algunos analistas, este país parece haber anticipado las dinámicas recientes del capitalismo contemporáneo, que se convierten en realidad incluso en los países dónde los regímenes de bienestar están institucionalizados. La metáfora de la « brasilización » se refiere particularmente a la intensificación de los períodos de desempleo. El artículo discute la pertinencia de este tipo de categoría alusiva. Con ese objetivo, recurre a análisis cuantitativos de trayectorias de empleo en Brasil y en Francia. Si bien en esos dos países los vínculos con el empleo están efectivamente fragilizados, los dos fenómenos no pueden confundirse : responden a construcciones distintas de la relación al trabajo y se expresan en formas igualmente diferentes. |
