| Summary, etc. | À partir des années 2000, la prise de conscience progressive d’une inégalité de traitement entre les sexes associée à la visibilité grandissante des « filles de cités » dans le débat public favorise la promotion de la pratique féminine dans les quartiers populaires urbains stigmatisés. À partir d’une étude des orientations officielles et après avoir saisi les ressorts de l’émergence des « fille de cités » comme nouvelle catégorie de l’action publique, cet article montre que les objectifs, les formes de pratiques encouragées et les éléments de justification, associés reposent sur des stéréotypes sexués et raciaux limitant la portée de ces nouvelles incitations. |

| Summary, etc. | From the 2000’s, the growing awareness about gender inequality associated with the growing visibility of “suburban girls” in public debate encourage the promotion of women’s sport in poor and stigmatized neighborhoods. Based on a study of political orientations of sport and after analyzing the conditions for the emergence of the “suburban girls” as a new category of public action, this article show that the aims, the forms of practices encouraged and their related justifications are based on gender and race stereotypes that limit the effects of these new incentives. |
