| Summary, etc. | L’objet de cet article est, à partir d’un récit d’expérience de recherche menée au sein du pôle France d’escrime, de rendre compte des mécanismes d’adaptation qui ont ponctué la mise en œuvre d’un projet visant à produire des connaissances scientifiques tout en étant utile aux acteurs sportifs. Tout d’abord sont mises en évidence les opérations de traduction nécessaires à la légitimation du travail scientifique. Puis sont abordés les compromis opérés en matière de gestion du temps. Enfin sont discutés certains dilemmes liés à la posture de l’expert-chercheur. |

| Summary, etc. | The object of this article is to recount, through a description on experimental research carried out with an elite sports team, the French fencing centre of excellence, the adjustment mechanisms that punctuated the implementation of a project aimed at generating sociological knowledge. Firstly, the translation operations essential to the legitimacy of scientific work will be highlighted. Secondly, the compromises made concerning time management will be discussed. Finally, certain issues linked to the stance of the expert-researcher in an environment of social pressure will be addressed. |
