| Summary, etc. | Les médecins et les infirmières répondent aux besoins d’information des familles de patients hospitalisés en réanimation. Mais, leur non-satisfaction a été observée, liée à une perception d’informations contradictoires entre celles délivrées par le médecin et celles délivrées par l’infirmière.Des entretiens réalisés dans une unité de réanimation, auprès de familles de patients hospitalisés, a permis de vérifier l’influence de la représentation du statut du médecin et de l’infirmière sur cette perception de l’information.Cette étude a identifié un positionnement prestigieux du médecin, renforcé par l’événement en cours, qui légitime auprès des familles un niveau de connaissances et de compétences élevé. En contrepartie, la représentation de l’infirmière dépend toujours d’un passé historique lourd, qui limite l’émergence d’un métier de compétences. |

| Summary, etc. | Doctors and nurses respond to the need of the patients’ family for information regarding the patients’ recovery in Intensive Care. However, their dissatisfaction, linked to the perception of contradictory informations delivered by the doctor and the nurse, has been observed.Interviews carried out in an intensive care unit among patients ’families’ has confirmed the influence of the representation of the doctor’s and nurse’s status regarding this perception of information.This study has identified the prestigious position held by the doctor, reinforced by the events in progress, and which legitimizes an elevated level of knowledge and competence for the family. Alternatively, the representation of the nurse still relies on an onerous past history which limits the emergence of the profession’s competences. |
