| Summary, etc. | Diverses définitions et modèles conceptuels de la fatigue secondaire à une difficulté de santé ont été élaborés, particulièrement à partir d’études qualitatives et quantitatives réalisées majoritairement auprès de populations atteintes de cancer. À partir d’une recension des écrits, le premier objectif de cet article est de réaliser une analyse critique et une synthèse du concept de fatigue afin de proposer un cadre conceptuel sur lequel pourrait s’appuyer les éléments de l’exercice infirmier. Le deuxième objectif est de faire ressortir l’implication du modèle pour la pratique infirmière, soit de décrire différents résultats escomptés chez le client atteint de maladies chroniques tel le cancer, dont les auto-soins efficaces, ainsi que les éléments de l’exercice infirmier associés en proposant des pistes d’interventions, une analyse critique des avantages et des limites sur l’utilisation du modèle pour planifier des interventions infirmières complète la démarche poursuivie. |

| Summary, etc. | Many definitions and conceptual frameworks were developed on fatigue related to health problems, mostly from scientific research among cancer patients. From a summary of a literature review, the first objective of this article is to describe different theoretical perspectives on the concept of fatigue. The second objective is to elaborate an integrative conceptual framework from the definitions chosen. The third objective is to describe different coping strategies and nursing interventions in relation with the conceptual framework. The literature review includes studies on fatigue in general with an emphasis on cancer related fatigue in particular. The review was conducted from 3 scientific data bases, Medline, Cinahl and Psychlit, for the last twenty years. The relevance of the conceptual framework for nursing intervention is discussed. |
