Ses démarches sont souvent empiriques mais peuvent être empruntées à d’autres disciplines et ses concepts avoir été élaborés par des philosophes. Elle nécessite néanmoins une grande rigueur dans l’étude des sources, notamment par une critique externe et une critique interne. Grâce à des archives d’une grande richesse (particulièrement les fonds hospitaliers), il est possible d’écrire l’histoire des infirmières. |

Its approaches are often empirical but may be borrowed from other disciplines, and its concepts may have been elaborated by philosophers. Nevertheless, it requires a great rigour in the study of sources, notably by an external and an internal criticism. Thanks to very rich archives (particularly the hospital collection), it is possible to write the history of nurses. |
