| Summary, etc. | Au Portugal, contrairement aux temps anciens, la femme enceinte est précocement suivie par des professionnels de santé ; notamment par la sage-femme qui la suit, la conseille et même de plus en plus, l’informe sur les formes les plus adéquates pour vivre de façon équilibrée et saine cette période de sa vie. Cette étude s’inscrit dans une sociologie compréhensive. Nous avons ainsi privilégié l’entretien semi-structuré, l’observation directe et la recherche documentaire. De l’ensemble des données recueillies, nous avons constaté que les sages-femmes ont été unanimes en affirmant que l’éducation pour la santé est une activité prioritaire. Toutefois, il semble y avoir une certaine confusion dans les concepts de « prévention et promotion » de la santé. Nous concluons que les actions éducatives font partie intégrante de deux modèles que nous appelons traditionnel et dialogique. Le premier modèle s’inscrit dans la prévention des maladies, au moyen d’informations de contenus biomédicaux, qui ont pour objectifs la diminution des risques individuels. Le second modèle s’oriente vers la personne et sa réalité, en étant considéré comme un sujet de la pratique éducative. Il est donc pertinent de s’interroger comment les écoles doivent former les professionnels de santé sur ce sujet. |

| Summary, etc. | Prenatal monitoring and health educationContrary to not so far away times, today in Portugal the pregnant woman is precociously accompanied by health professionals within whom it is important to focus the intervention of the midwives who accompanies, gives advice and even more and more frequently gives adequate formation on how to live in a healthy and balanced way this period of her life. This study is part of the core of a comprehensive sociology. The method of collecting empirical data involves the semi-structured interview and direct observation. The midwives had been unanimous in affirming that the Education for the Health is an activity with priority. However, there seems to be some confusion in the concepts of “prevention and promotion”. These practices are divided into two models, which we designate as traditional and dialogic. The first model points to the prevention of diseases and damages in accordance with the information of biometric contents in order to reduce individual risks. The second is focused on the individual and its reality, thus considered as subject of the educational practice. Therefore is pertinent to question on how the schools should train form the professionals of health in relation to this intention. |
