| Summary, etc. | Si l’Église catholique est bien présente au sein des instances européennes, entre autres par la diplomatie pontificale et la Commission des épiscopats de la Communauté européenne (COMECE), il est clair que l’État de la Cité du Vatican, par sa nature et son système juridique, ne pourrait pas remplir les conditions juridiques et politiques nécessaires pour adhérer à l’Union européenne. Tout au plus pourrait-on imaginer la conclusion de certains accords ou conventions entre l’Union Européenne et la Cité du vatican. |

| Summary, etc. | If the catholic Church is significantly present in the instances of the European union, amongst others by pontifical diplomacy and the Commission of the Episcopates of the European Union (COMECE), it is clear that the State of the City of the Vatican, by it’s nature and juridical system could not fulfil the juridical and political conditions necessary to adhere to the European Union. About all one could imagine would be the conclusion of some agreements or conventions between the European Union and the City of the Vatican. |
