| Summary, etc. | RésuméL’arrivée d’un enfant dans le groupe familial réveille le matériel générationnel et permet le travail de remise en jeu de l’héritage psychique. C’est ainsi que la nouvelle famille va pouvoir s’ancrer dans la filiation tout en se construisant dans la différence des générations.Mais parfois, la nouvelle famille ne peut entrer ni dans la régression nécessaire à ces retrouvailles, ni dans le travail d’élaboration pour construire un nouveau maillon générationnel. Les souffrances anciennes et l’héritage psychique non élaboré entravent la reprise du matériel familial en détresse. Les futurs parents luttent contre le retour des violences primitives, mais ces dernières peuvent resurgir sous forme d’images inquiétantes non reconnues, voire effroyables. La violence habite alors la période périnatale et les futurs parents construisent une parentalité confuse qui confond le scénario des drames d’autrefois et la nouvelle famille. C’est ici le bébé interne du parent qui prime et le bébé réel ne peut pas être pris en compte dans ses propres besoins. Une contenance soignante favorable est nécessaire pour accompagner l’élaboration de ce bagage générationnel psychique en souffrance. |

| Summary, etc. | The arrival of a new baby raises generational issues in the family, thus making it possible to work on psychological issues stemming from the past. The new family should be able both to place itself in the line of descent and to differentiate itself from previous generations. But sometimes the new family is capable neither of the regression necessary to encounter the past nor of the work necessary to construct a new link in the generational chain. Past suffering and a psychological history which has not yet been worked through hamper the ability to deal with distressing family issues. The future parents struggle against the return of primitive violence, which may nonetheless resurface in the form of unrecognized anxiety-provoking or even horrifying images. Then violence haunts the perinatal period, and the parents-to-be set the stage for confused parenthood, mixing a narrative of past tragedy with that of the new family. In that case, the parent’s internal image of the baby takes precedence and the real baby, with its own needs, is not taken into account. The future parents then need to be supported by a positive, caring attitude as they work through the store of psychological suffering rooted in past generations. |
