| Summary, etc. | L’Occident est actuellement traversé par de multiples mutations sociétales et anthropologiques. Dans cette nouvelle ère de la modernité, l’individualisme, la désinstitutionnalisation et la vie « accélérée » règnent. La parentalité et la vie familiale ne sont pas épargnées. Dans ce contexte idéologique, l’annonce du handicap et l’acceptation de l’enfant handicapé se complexifient. À partir d’une situation clinique, nous essayons d’illustrer les enjeux narcissiques et identitaires pour les parents, l’enfant et la famille lorsque handicap et idéologies modernes se rencontrent. Le déni de la différence que représente le handicap se trouve renforcé, sous le couvert d’une demande d’acceptation et de normalisation de celui-ci. Enfin, nous proposons quelques pistes de réflexion pour l’accompagnement de l’enfant et de sa famille. |

| Summary, etc. | The West is currently undergoing multiple societal and anthropological changes. In this new era of modernity, individualism, de-institutionalization and a “fast” life are the rule. Parenthood and family life have not been spared. In this ideological context, the admission of a handicap and acceptance of a handicapped child become more complicated. Starting from a clinical situation, we try to illustrate the narcissistic and identity issues faced by the parents, the child and the family when handicaps and modern ideologies come face to face. The denial of difference which the handicap represents becomes reinforced, under the cover of a request for acceptance and normalization of the latter. Finally, we offer some thoughts on accompanying the child and his family. |

| Summary, etc. | El occidente está actualmente atravesado por múltiples mutaciones sociales y antropológicas. En esta nueva era de la modernidad, el individualismo, la desinstitucionalización y la vida « acelerada » reinan. La paternidad y la vida familiar no son una excepción. En este contexto ideológico, el anuncio de una discapacidad y la aceptación del hijo discapacitado se hacen más complejas. A partir de una situación clínica intentamos ilustrar los desafíos narcisistas e de identidad para los padres, el niño y la familia cuando discapacidad e ideología moderna se encuentran. La negación de la diferencia que representa la discapacidad se encuentra reforzada bajo el pretexto de un pedido de aceptación y de normalización de la misma. Finalmente, proponemos algunas pistas de reflexión para acompañar al niño y a su familia. |
