Summary, etc. | RésuméPartant des conditions dans lesquelles s’élabore la « mesure » en matière responsabilité sociale, d’une part, et de l’insertion de la RSE dans la pensée stratégique, d’autre part, l’article montre que l’évaluation relève d’une logique de communication. Communication ne signifiant pas essentiellement discours de valorisation, mais aussi discours sur l’entreprise, visant à fonder des représentations de l’entreprise et de ses responsabilités. Ces représentations constituent un enjeu central pour les hauts dirigeants, qui sont susceptibles de trouver dans la RSE une source de rente informationnelle face aux actionnaires, aux ONG, aux clients. |

Summary, etc. | Based on the conditions of the “measure” of social responsibility and, on the other hand, on the inclusion of social responsibility in business strategies, this paper demonstrates that evaluation of CSR is linked to the logic of communication. Communication does not essentially mean discourse for valorisation, but also includes discourse about firm with the objective of establishing new social representation of the companies and of their responsibilities. These representations are central stakes for senior management. They may find in CSR the basis of a new informational rent to face stockholders, NGOs, consumers. |
