Summary, etc. | La majorité des expériences de partenariat syndicat-gestion au niveau de l’entreprise se sont effritées au cours des dernières années, et l’intérêt des chercheurs pour ce sujet de recherche a en quelque sorte suivi le même parcours. Cette étude vise à raviver le débat sur le partenariat en étudiant ce qu’il reste de ces expériences au Québec en cherchant des traces qui perdurent encore aujourd’hui (braises) ou encore l’absence de celles-ci (cendres). Nous explorons cet enjeu par le biais de deux cas. Dans cette étude, nous portons notre attention sur la persistance au fil du temps de trois mécanismes de gouvernance entre les parties : « l’habilitation relationnelle », « la participation à l’amélioration du processus de production » et « l’innovation au niveau des relations industrielles ». Les données recueillies auprès de diverses sources permettent de conclure que ce dernier mécanisme est le plus persistant et toujours en place, notamment avec la négociation continue et les efforts pour régler conjointement mésententes et griefs. |

Summary, etc. | The legacy of partnership in Quebec: ashes or embers? Case studiesMost firm level union-management partnerships have vanished through time. Scholars’ interest for this topic seems to have followed the same path. We shed new light on the debate around partnership by studying two cases in Quebec. We searched for evidence of enduring traces of partnership (embers) or absence of any trace (ashes). We focus on three mechanisms of governance : relations habilitation ; participation to the improvement of the production process, and innovation in industrial relations. The last, according to data from multiple sources, is the most important and is still in place. More specifically, ongoing collective bargaining and efforts to solve together divergences and grievances are the most relevant persistent practices. |
