| Summary, etc. | De très nombreux ouvrages didactiques (livres pour enfants, manuels, dictionnaires...) sont publiés après que les lois Ferry de 1881-1882 institutionnalisent l’obligation scolaire. Rédigés par des pédagogues, plusieurs d’entre eux s’intéressent massivement à des questions d’ordre littéraire et donnent naissance à des réactions dirigées contre l’idée de la littérature qu’ils défendent. Cet article étudie comment, au tournant du siècle, un certain nombre d’écrivains et de critiques (Proust, Larbaud, Vandérem, Gourmont, Louÿs...) entreprennent de mettre à mal leur idée de la littérature au moyen d’arts d’écrire ironiques et parviennent ainsi à attirer l’attention sur des œuvres méprisées des pédagogues. |

| Summary, etc. | Thanks to the Ferry laws of 1881-1882 which put in place universal education, a great number of didactic works (books for children, class books, dictionaries...) are published. Although they are often written by educators, some of them are mainly interested in literary matters and give way to a reaction against the idea of literature they embody. This paper studies how some writers and literary critics (Proust, Larbaud, Vandérem, Gourmont, Louÿs...) undertake at the turn of the century to criticize their idea of literature through some ironical essays on the art of writing and succeed in throwing attention on works that educators despise. |
