| Summary, etc. | Le discours masculin exerce sur le texte zolien une emprise aussi sûre que discrète, en particulier dans la définition du personnage féminin, et dans son assignation à un destin désigné comme normal. Le héros et le narrateur, fréquemment embusqué derrière lui, confondent souvent leurs voix autoritaires. Le brouillage des frontières du discours indirect libre et du discours auctorial contribuent ainsi à la fois à genrer la narration omnisciente et à valider les assertions des observateurs du féminin. Il s’agit dès lors de cerner l’héroïne de remises au point censées contrer un mystère féminin à la fois nécessaire au romanesque et inacceptable dans l’univers parfaitement transparent et lisible du roman naturaliste. |
