| Summary, etc. | Si la médiatisation des demeures des écrivains au xixe siècle a indirectement bénéficié de récents travaux consacrés aux entretiens d’écrivains et au photojournalisme, ils renvoient néanmoins l’image d’une histoire tronquée, globalement restreinte aux décennies 1870-1910. L’article envisage ainsi le sujet à une plus large échelle temporelle et de façon panoramique, entre 1840 et 1903, au travers d’un corpus d’articles de presse enrichi qu’il met en perspective. Interrogeant l’évolution des représentations en jeu au travers des différentes acceptions du syntagme intérieur, il tend à montrer le rôle central de la presse dans la construction de scénographies complexes relevant d’un imaginaire et d’une imagerie de l’homme de lettres intimement lié à son intérieur. |

| Summary, etc. | If the mediatisation of 19th century writers has indirectly benefitted from recent studies focused on interviews with writers and on photojournalism, they nonetheless communicate a truncated history, overall restricted to the years between 1870 and 1910. This article takes a larger historical perspective on the subject and offers a panorama of the years 1840 to 1903, through an enriched corpus of press articles put in context. By looking at the evolution of the different representations at stake through the evolution of the different meanings of the term intérieur, it shows the major role of the press in the building of complex scenographies relating to the imagination, and images, of the writer as intimately linked to his domestic interior. |
