Summary, etc. | La perception et l’action sont intimement liées chez l’humain. Dès le plus jeune âge, la perception des émotions et le comportement postural jouent un rôle central dans les interactions sociales, notamment dans la communication face à face. Les émotions, au-delà de véhiculer des informations sur nos états affectifs et ceux d’autrui, influencent également nos dispositions comportementales telles que les réactions d’approche, d’évitement ou d’immobilisation. Ce couplage entre la perception des émotions et les tendances à l’action peut être quantifié avec des mesures fines sur le plan sensorimoteur et postural, disponibles grâce au développement récent de nouveaux outils de mesure. En outre, il peut être modulé en fonction de différences individuelles, liées aux traits de personnalité ou à des pathologies. Cette revue a pour objectif de mettre en lumière les connaissances sur les liens réciproques entre émotions et posture, chez des enfants et des adultes en bonne santé ou porteurs de pathologies associant des perturbations sensorimotrices et socioémotionnelles, à des degrés plus ou moins sévères. La coexistence de ces difficultés au sein de différentes pathologies souligne l’importance d’évaluer finement ces domaines afin de les diagnostiquer et de les prendre en charge de manière optimale. |

Summary, etc. | Perception and action are closely intertwined in humans. From a very early age, emotional perception and postural behavior play a key role in social interactions, especially in face-to-face communication. Emotions, more than just providing information about our emotional states and those of others, also impact our behavioral attitudes, which include approach, avoidance, and freezing responses. This coupling between emotional perception and action tendencies has recently begun to be codified with fine sensorimotor and postural metrics on whole body reactions ( e.g., micromovements, postural oscillations, center of pressure displacements). Furthermore, these relationships may be modulated based on individual differences, such as personality traits or specific disorders. This review article seeks to shed light on the reciprocal relationships between emotions and posture in children and adults with good health or presenting various disorders combining sensorimotor and socio-emotional impairments, with varying degrees of severity. We present here the results of studies in neurodevelopmental pathologies where socio-emotional and postural difficulties may co-exist, such as autism spectrum disorders, developmental coordination disorders, and in children with cerebellar pathologies. The coexistence of such difficulties in different pathologies underlines the importance of precisely assessing them in clinical practice in order to improve patient diagnosis and care. |
