| Summary, etc. | Les Gestes des Chiprois sont un texte de haut intérêt pour la connaissance d'un des secteurs les plus florissants de la production littéraire d'Outremer, celui de l'historiographie. L'œuvre amalgame des techniques d'écriture différentes, de type annalistique, chronique et historique au sens strict. L'hétérogénéité, au niveau de la qualité de l'écriture et de l'information qu'il véhicule, est due à la variété des sources utilisées par l'auteur. Le caractère unitaire du texte est cependant garanti à un niveau thématique et idéologique, puisque les évènements d'Outremer y sont observés dans une optique de type nobiliaire. |

| Summary, etc. | Les Gestes des Chiprois is a highly interesting text in terms of the light it sheds on one of the most thriving area in overseas literary production, namely historiography. The work fuses different writing techniques that belong respectively to annals, chronicles and history stricto sensu. Such heterogeneity in the kind of writing and in the information conveyed is to be related to the variety of sources used. However, the work is made consistent at a thematic and ideological level since the perspective in which overseas events are reported is typical of nobiliary ideology. |
