| Summary, etc. | Alors que l’on ne conservait jusqu’ici presque aucune charte d’époque visigothique, quatre chartes en provenance du monastère pyrénéen de Saint-Martin d’Asán ont récemment été découvertes. Cette étude porte sur trois d’entre elles, datées de 572 à 586, dont deux diplômes, l’un de Léovigild, émis à Narbonne, l’autre de son fils Reccared, tous deux proposés en traduction. Elles apportent des informations de première importance sur la chronologie des successions au trône, sur les immunités fiscales, les relations entre la province Narbonnaise et la péninsule Ibérique à l’intérieur du royaume goth, ainsi que sur le rôle politique des élites aristocratiques de l’espace circumpyrénéen à la fin du vie siècle. Les confiscations auxquelles elles font allusion ont pu se produire en 580, au moment de la révolte d’Herménégild : elles sont en tout cas politiques et visiblement sans rapport avec un supposé conflit entre rois ariens et évêques catholiques. L’image qui se dégage des nouvelles chartes d’Asán est celle d’un royaume visigothique peu différent de son voisin mérovingien. |

| Summary, etc. | Although we so far practically had no charters left from the Visigothic period, four of them originating from the monastery of San Martín d’Asán, in the Pyrenees, have recently been discovered. This study examines three of them, ranging from 572 to 586. Two of them are diplomas : one from Leovigild, issued in Narbonne, and the other from his son, Reccared, both of which we translate. They provide important information on the chronology of successions to the throne, tax immunities, relations within the Visigothic Kingdom between the province of Narbonne and the Iberian Peninsula, and the political role of aristocratic elites in the area around the Pyrenees in the late 6th century. The confiscations they refer to may have taken place in 580, during Hermenegild’s revolt ; they were of a clear political nature and not related to any supposed conflict between Arian kings and Catholic bishops. The new charters from Asán convey the image of a Visigothic Kingdom not quite different from its Merovingian neighbor. |
