520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The manuscript Vienne, ÖNB, 3391 (W, ca 1500–1520), a rich anthology of verse and prose texts mostly of Burgundian origin, contains six works by Olivier de La Marche : Le Debat de Cuidier et de Fortune, Le Chevalier deliberé and four poems dedicated to L’Archiduc (Philippe le Beau), plus three occasional poems copied by a later hand, different from the main one. The Debat, which is the subject of this article, is preserved in four manuscripts and in an incunabulum by Jean de Liège (active in Valenciennes, ca 1500) ; as W’s copyist sometimes used contemporary incunabula as models, in particular editions by Colard Mansion, we collated the text of the manuscript – the only one that does not attribute these verses to Olivier de La Marche – and that of the Valenciennes imprint, in order to verify their similarity. However, the result is negative : even if it is impossible to reconstruct a stemma, it nevertheless seems highly unlikely that W’s copyist had the text of the incunabulum before his eyes.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
