| Summary, etc. | Résumé Première réalisation d'une action internationale concertée sur les risques de l'évolution climatique, le protocole de Kyoto pourrait être, à long terme, le moteur d'une transformation drastique du fonctionnement de nos sociétés. L'imposition de quotas de rejets des gaz à effet de serre et la fin de la gratuité du dioxyde de carbone créent un nouveau marché : celui des permis d'émission qui semble potentiellement vecteur d'un bouleversement majeur de nos modes de production et de consommation et donc de nos systèmes économiques. L'ampleur de cet enjeu constitue l'horizon de négociation des différents acteurs internationaux et, on le devine, le point de cristallisation des stratégies, tensions, compromis, blocages et autres luttes d'intérêts. |

| Summary, etc. | Abstract Kyoto Protocol : Post-2012 IssuesThe Kyoto Protocol was the first implementation of a concerted international action tackling the risks raised by climate change. In the long run, it could become the driving force of a drastic shift in the way our societies operate. The enforcement of quotas on greenhouse gas emissions and the end of free release of carbon dioxide have created a new market. The licence restricting emissions could potentially cause a major overhaul in our ways of production and consumption, therefore changing our economic systems. The magnitude of this shift is at the center of negotiations between the different international actors, which includes the combination of strategies, tensions, compromises and other struggles of interests. |
