| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa santé n’aura pas échappé à la mondialisation : à celle des pathologies, de l’industrie pharmaceutique…, et aussi des flux de personnes. En effet, on constate d’une part une mobilité accrue du personnel soignant et d’autre part le développement du tourisme médical. Il s’agit pour les soignants, souvent originaires du Sud, d’émigrer afin de bénéficier de rémunérations plus attractives et pour les patients de se faire soigner à moindre coût. Ces migrations ne sont pas sans conséquences : fuite des cerveaux, manque de suivi médical des patients… Dès lors se pose la question de la régulation de ces flux migratoires. Au Nord comme au Sud, les États tentent de trouver des réponses par l’instauration de « codes », mais la médecine peut-elle échapper à la société de consommation, qui transforme l’acte médical en simple acte commercial ? |

| Summary, etc. | Health should not escape discussions on globalization: that of diseases, the pharmaceutical industry…, and also flows of people. Indeed, we are a witnessing of greater mobility of auxiliary nursing staff and other developments in medical tourism. Nurses, often from the South, migrate North to receive higher pay and more attractive for patients to go to Southern States to be treated at lower cost. These migrations are not without consequences: brain drain, lack of medical care for patients… From that moment on the question becomes the regulation of these flows. Northern and Southern states are trying to find answers through the introduction of “codes”, but can medicine escape the consumer society, which has transformed medical procedure into a simple commercial decision? |
