Summary, etc. RésuméNous proposons l’utilisation d’un outil pédagogique en apparence simple, l’incident critique, de façon à réintégrer l’expérience quotidienne des organisations dans le cadre des programmes de formation en management. Puisé dans le vécu et comportant des exigences esthétiques, l’incident critique en tant qu’outil pédagogique vise à réintégrer l’ontologie des étudiants dans des formations trop axées sur l’apprentissage et l’application de concepts. Nous faisons part de notre expérience de même que de ce qui nous semble compter lors de la production de tels instruments pédagogiques.

Summary, etc. In this article, we put forward the effectiveness of a near forgotten pedagogical device, the critical incident. Though it may look simple, its purpose is to bring back into the classroom the organizational day-to-day experience. Built (or written) with esthetical preoccupations in mind, its intent is to open a space in our programs for our students (or seminar participants) ontologies. Doing this, we attempt to strike a better balance between the present strong focus on concept learning and application on the one hand, and people’s capacity to learn something about themselves through the emotions that the critical incident usually stirs on the other hand. We share our own experience with this device, along with several tips on producing such learning instruments.
