| Summary, etc. | L’examen de la nature du langage que Cavell a élaboré dans son livre Les Voix de la raison nous permet de développer une critique à une ligne d’interprétation très influente dans l’éthique analytique. Il nous permet de critiquer la manière dont la théorie morale a confiné la moralité à l’intérieur de critères normatifs préfixés et d’un choix restreint des concepts. Cavell nous montre que la rationalité qui gouverne nos considérations (aussi nos considérations morales) est étroitement liée à la relation que nous établissons avec les formes de vie auxquelles ces mêmes considérations appartiennent. S’ouvre ainsi une scène pour la pensée morale qui consiste dans la mise à l’épreuve de cette relation et dans l’exploration de nouvelles directions où elle peut être conduite. |

| Summary, etc. | We may go back to Cavell’s examination of the nature of language in The Claim of Reason in order to suggest a criticism against a significant line in analytic ethics. His treatment allows us to criticize the way in which moral theory restricts morality within fixed normative criteria and a narrow choice of concepts. In the light of his view, we may show how the rationality which governs our considerations (in morality and elsewhere) is tied to the relationship we establish with the forms of life where such considerations have a place. A new scene for moral thinking appears into view : it is concerned with measuring this relationship and in exploring new directions where it can be led. |

| Summary, etc. | L’esame della natura del linguaggio che Cavell ha elaborato nel suo The Claim of Reason ci consente di svolgere una critica a un’impostazione influente nell’etica analitica. Ci consente di criticare il modo in cui la teoria morale ha confinato la moralità all’interno di criteri normativi prefissati e di una scelta ristretta dei concetti. Alla luce di Cavell, la razionalità che governa le nostre considerazioni (anche morali) affonda nella relazione che stabiliamo con le forme di vita a cui tali considerazioni appartengono. Si apre una scena per il pensiero morale che consiste nel misurare questa relazione e nell’esplorare nuove direzioni in cui può essere condotta. |
