Summary, etc. | Le Burnout, ou épuisement professionnel, est un syndrome souvent étudié dans le champ des sciences humaines. Il est alors défini par un état complet d’épuisement pour les uns, par un processus d’épuisement progressif pour les autres. Nous plaçant du point de vue des sciences de gestion, nous nous efforçons dans cette contribution, par l’étude qualitative approfondie d’un cas réel, d’identifier les facteurs organisationnels déterminants du burnout, puis de mettre en évidence le processus organisationnel conduisant à de telles situations. Les facteurs organisationnels mis en évidence peuvent être cadencés avec les trois dimensions du processus du burnout décrites par Maslach et Jackson (1981), dimensions essentiellement individuelles. A partir de nos résultats, nous proposons une formalisation simple du processus organisationnel du burnout, nous permettant de formuler des préconisations nouvelles en matière de prévention de ce phénomène. |

Summary, etc. | Burnout is a syndrome which has often been studied from the point of view of human sciences. It is then defined as a complete state of exhaustion by some scholars, and as a process of progressive exhaustion by others. From the point of view of management sciences, we strive in this contribution, by the in-depth qualitative study of a real case, to identify the determining organizational factors of burnout, and then to highlight the organizational process leading to such situations. The highlighted organizational factors can be clocked with the three dimensions of the burnout process described by Maslach and Jackson (1981), which are essentially individual dimensions. Based on our results, we propose a simple formalization of the burnout organizational process, enabling us to make new recommendations for the prevention of this phenomenon. |
