| Summary, etc. | La veille, composante de l’intelligence économique, approvisionne l’entreprise en informations utiles captées à l’extérieur afin d’éclairer la prise de décision stratégique (Marcon, 2014). Le brevet en tant que « moyen d’exprimer vers le marché, des recherches purement techniques et technologiques » s’avère une source informationnelle très importante (Quoniam, 2013a). Dans cet article, nous rappelons dans une première partie les fondamentaux de la documentation brevet perçue ici comme une encyclopédie technologique dynamique, une source de l’open-data (90 millions de documents), pouvant servir une gamme de besoins informationnels étendue dont la complexité, tant du point de vue de ses contenus que de celui de son questionnement, impose pour son utilisation une approche flexible et contextualisée. La deuxième partie présente des chaînes de traitement issues de l’artefact Patent2Net d’exploration des documents brevets qui s’appuient sur les propriétés bibliographiques et les contenus textuels des documents pour couvrir de façon générique ces besoins informationnels. Pour chacune, le focus est fait pour démontrer son application à des activités d’intelligence compétitive, une production d’indicateurs descriptifs, de lecture rapide et de production de connaissances factuelles, tout en soulignant également quelques potentiels d’extension pour suivre la nécessaire adaptation à la dynamique obligée en veille informationnelle. |

| Summary, etc. | Competitive intelligence is the art of taking offensive of defensive external information in order to fulfill strategic decision-making. Such practice addresses many fields such as research, business, or knowledge. Patent, are a way to express to society results of pure technology research activities and are a fundamental resource for such task. Hereafter, we remind patent document fundamentals positioning it as a technical encyclopedia, as an open-data resource to serve an extended range of informational needs while the complexity from the content point of view or from the Competitive Intelligence point of view may expect an open, flexible, and contextual function available. The second part presents using the open-source Patent2net toolset several processing data procedures to extract bibliographic and content patent data from the worldwide patent database of the European Patent Office. Processing chains perform several indicators; open to several exploration tools and covers generically digital humanities skills. We extend the well-known kick reading tools settled with several example to exploit and derivate the chain to accommodate the necessary CI flexibility. |
