| Summary, etc. | RésuméAprès avoir décrit le management comme une pratique qui construit des solutions au problème que pose l’action collective, l’article brosse à grands traits l’histoire du management de façon à mettre en lumière le fait que son avenir s’inscrit dans la continuité à la fois du mouvement de rationalisation et du mouvement d’émancipation des humains qui lui ont donné naissance et qui sont en rupture avec lui. Du coup, le management ressort comme étant le fruit d’une valse à trois temps qui se conjugue au passé, au présent et au futur en offrant des solutions traditionnelles, modernes et hypermodernes au toujours insoluble problème de l’action collective organisée. |

| Summary, etc. | Management: From Tradition to Hypermodernity After describing management as a practice that builds solutions to the problems raised by collective action, this article sketches a broad outline of the history of management in an effort to show that its future lies in the continuity of both the rationalization movement and the human emancipation movement from which it emerged and from which it has broken away. Consequently, management stands out as the product of a three-step waltz that conjugates itself in the past, present and future tense by offering traditional, modern and hypermodern solutions to the eternal problem of organized collective action. |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenDespués de describir la administración de empresas como una práctica dedicada a solucionar el problema planteado por la acción colectiva, el artículo esboza a grandes rasgos su historia para poner de relieve el hecho de que su porvenir se inscribe en la continuidad del movimiento de racionalización y del movimiento de emancipación que la originaron y están ahora rompiendo con ella. Como consecuencia, la administración de empresas aparece como el fruto de un vals de ritmo ternario que se conyuga en tiempo pasado, presente y futuro y ofrece soluciones tradicionales, modernas e hipermodernas al problema siempre irresoluble de la acción colectiva organizada. |
