| Summary, etc. | Depuis quelques années, la figure de l’entrepreneur en Afrique fait l’objet d’un regain d’intérêt. Discours – scientifiques, politiques et médiatiques – de valorisation de l’entrepreneuriat et dispositifs actifs de promotion se répandent sur fond de promesses diverses (lutte contre la pauvreté et le réchauffement climatique, moteur de la transition numérique, autonomisation des femmes, etc.). Un tel déploiement discursif interroge : pourquoi ce retour de la figure presque héroïque de l’entrepreneur aujourd’hui ? Cet article se propose de mettre en lumière la manière dont cette rhétorique pro-entrepreneuriale s’est construite et a évolué au sein des institutions internationales du développement, pour illustrer ensuite comment elle se matérialise dans les débats académiques contemporains sur l’entrepreneuriat en Afrique et quel idéal-type dominant de l’entrepreneur il en ressort. |

| Summary, etc. | In recent years, the figure of the entrepreneur in Africa has been the subject of renewed interest. Scientific, political, and media discourse focusing on the value of entrepreneurship, and active mechanisms to promote the latter have been spreading against the backdrop of various promises (fighting against poverty and global warming, driving the transition to digital technology, empowering women, etc.). Such prominence in discourse begs the question: why has the quasi-heroic figure of the entrepreneur returned? This article aims to shed light on the way in which the pro-entrepreneurial rhetoric has been constructed and has evolved within international development institutions, and to illustrate how it has materialized in contemporary academic debates on entrepreneurship in Africa and what dominant ideal type of the entrepreneur has emerged from it. |

| Summary, etc. | Desde hace algunos años, la figura del emprendedor en África es objeto de un renovado interés. Discursos – científicos, políticos y mediáticos – de puesta en valor del emprendimiento y mecanismos activos de promoción se prodigan bajo promesas variadas (lucha contra la pobreza y el calentamiento climático, motor de la transición numérica, empoderamiento de las mujeres, etc). La implementación de este discurso nos lleva a cuestionarnos: ¿a qué se debe este regreso de la figura casi heroica del emprendedor en la actualidad? Este artículo pretende poner en evidencia la forma en que esta retórica pro-empresarial se construyó y evolucionó en las instituciones internacionales de desarrollo, para ilustrar, acto seguido, cómo aquella se materializa en los debates académicos contemporáneos sobre el emprendimiento en África y qué imagen tipo imperante del emprendedor se desprende de tal retórica. |
