| Summary, etc. | Je propose dans cet article une réflexion sur la place de la littérature dans un « système de la vérité » relatif à des périodes spécifiques, bien plus conflictuel que ce que postule l’affirmation qu’il y aurait « des savoirs de la littérature ». Un détour par des écrits du XVIIe siècle, moment d’institutionnalisation de la littérature, permet de mieux comprendre ce qu’il en est de son historicité, en se demandant pourquoi, comment et dans quels buts un écrit se présente alors comme relevant de la littérature. Il met ainsi en évidence l’importance des gestes historiographiques qui font alors de la littérature un lieu d’écriture de l’histoire, et d’une histoire hautement conflictuelle, que ce soit celle des origines du catholicisme (Honoré d’Urfé dans L’Astrée) ou celle de la Fronde ( Vie du cardinal de Retz). Cette approche est réinvestie dans un tout autre « système de la vérité », le nôtre, à travers l’exemple récent de l’affaire Karski (2009). J’essaie d’interroger ce qui, dans ce roman, a touché aux procédures d’établissement de la vérité des historiens, et notamment l’érection du témoin en sanctuaire de la vérité historique. |

| Summary, etc. | This article analyses the place of literature in a “system of truth”, relating to specific periods, and much more conflictual than what is assumed by the assertion that there would be some “knowledge of literature”. A detour through writings of the seventeenth century – the moment of the institutionalization of literature – provides a better understanding of its historicity, by asking why, how and for what purposes a writing then presents itself as literature. It thus highlights the importance of historiographical actions that make literature a place for writing history, and of a highly conflictual history, wether the history of the origins of Catholicism (Honoré d’Urfé in L’Astrée) or the history of the Fronde ( Vie du Cardinal de Retz). This approach is reinvested in a completely different « system of truth » – our own system of truth –, through the recent example of the Karski case (2009). I try to question what, in this novel, has affected the historians’ procedures for establishing the truth, including the erection of the witness as a sanctuary of historical truth. |
