| Summary, etc. | RésuméDe l’abbaye de moniales cisterciennes Notre-Dame des Prés de Douai, fondée vers 1217, subsiste un nécrologe-obituaire d’autant plus précieux que ce genre d’ouvrage n’abonde pas pour les maisons féminines. Prélude à l’édition critique de ce document, le présent article propose une présentation du codex, un exposé retraçant à grands traits le premier siècle de l’histoire de cette abbaye et, en annexe, une reconstitution de la liste abbatiale. L’exploitation du nécrologe permet de reconstituer les effectifs, de cerner le recrutement social des moniales où domine la présence de filles du patriciat douaisien et où celle de cadettes de l’aristocratie reste significative, ce qui révèle l’attraction exercée par cette abbaye urbaine. Enfin, grâce aux pratiques mémorielles, il est possible de cerner les réseaux de bienfaiteurs et de protecteurs inscrits dans ce livre du chapitre. |

| Summary, etc. | The Obituary List of the Cistercian Nuns Monastery of Notre-Dame des Prés in Douai (late xiiith – early xivth centuries) : Introduction and CommentsThere remains from the Cistercian nuns monastery of Notre-Dame des Prés in Douai, founded around 1217, an obituary list-necrology, all the more precious since this type of document is not plentiful when female houses are concerned. As a preliminary to the critical edition of this document, the present article proposes an introduction to the codex, a presentation outlining the first century of this abbey, and, in an annex, a reconstitution of the abbey’s list. The analysis of the obituary list allows to reconstruct the enrollment, to get a fair idea of the social origins of the nuns, among whom daughters from Douai’s patrician families are predominant, although the presence of the younger daughters from aristocratic families remains significant, which testifies of the attraction exercised by this urban abbey. Finally, through the use of memorial practices, it becomes possible to identify the networks of benefactors and protectors who are mentioned in the chapter’s book. |
