Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The meeting between a recent theme such as inclusion and a classical thinker like Durkheim is not obvious, to the point of passing for irrelevant or of little interest. But a precise and innovative reading of Durkheim’s work in education opens up stimulating paths, in particular through questioning through inclusion. First, to think about the buried premises of it; then, to feed Durkheim’s innovative reading; finally, to revisit the history of the French education system and its universalism. An examination of Durkheim’s relationship to his school and university career (supplemented by that of Bourdieu) offers an anchored reading of writings in the sociology of education. Read again in this way, Durkheim’s Moral Education is a breviary for a teacher who would today reveal himself to be an actor of inclusion, opens up towards a general sociology of education, universalism and, in the end, lays the foundations for a inclusive revolution. |
