Summary, etc. Ernst Simmel est un médecin allemand. Pendant le premier conflit mondial, il a en charge les soldats souffrant de traumatismes. À partir de cette pratique quotidienne, il rédige une brochure intitulée Névroses de guerre et traumatismes psychiques, leurs relations réciproques, présentées à partir d’études hypnotiques psychanalytiques qui paraît en 1918. Il entre dans le mouvement freudien et réalise avec Karl Abraham un travail personnel. En Allemagne, à la guerre succède le chaos de la révolution. Simmel rédige un essai en 1919 : Psychanalyse des masses. Aspect oublié, la réception du texte de Simmel, répondant aux préoccupations d’un contexte troublé, fut telle que le ministère envisage de créer une chaire de psychanalyse à l’Université.

Summary, etc. Ernst Simmel (1882-1947): psychoanalysis of the massesErnst Simmel was a German doctor. During the First World War, he treated soldiers suffering from trauma. From his experience of daily practice, he wrote a pamphlet entitled: War Neuroses and Psychological Trauma, their reciprocal relationship based on psychoanalytic hypnosis studies which appeared in 1918. He joined the Freudian movement and carried-out personal studies with Karl Abraham. In Germany, war succeeded the chaos of the revolution. Simmel wrote an essay in 1919: Psychoanalysis of the masses. A forgotten aspect of the reception of Simmel's text was he addressed the concerns of patients, in a disturbed context to such an extent that the Ministry planned to create a Chair in psychoanalysis at the University.

A partir de esta práctica cotidiana, redacta un folleto titulado: Neurosis de guerra y traumatismos psíquicos, sus relaciones recíprocas, presentadas a partir de estudios hipnóticos psicoanalíticos que sale a luz en 1918. Integra el movimiento freudiano y lleva a cabo con Karl Abraham una labor personal. En Alemania, la guerra sigue al caos de la revolución. Simmel redacta un ensayo en 1919: Psicoanálisis de las masas. Aspecto olvidado, la recepción de que goza el texto de Simmel, como respuesta a las preocupaciones de un contexto trastornado, fue tal que el ministerio calcula si crear una cátedra de psicoanálisis en la Universidad.
