Summary, etc. | In classical sociology and the sociology of migration, political participation is often seen as an emblematic indicator of social participation. With this in mind, we examine a program for migrant parents called “The Parents’ School”. This political participation is seen in several forms, including minority and activist ones. We look at how educational support, originally designed to normalize and control the education of migrant parents can become a vehicle for political expression, and how it helps institutional rituals to evolve. Thus, we emphasize that this institutional support, although thought to normalize parents, has the paradoxical effect of building bridges towards knowledge of the Other, who is considered as a stranger by the society (Agier, 2022). Then we highlight how these initiatives, particularly because they stay faithful to their normative characterization, allow the expression of opposition or resistance. Ultimately these expressions play a part in reconfiguring the institutional framework. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
