Summary, etc. | Based on a case study and mobilizing the concept of job crafting, this article intends to contribute to the literature on sustainable employability. We show that individuals can strategically adjust the tasks they perform (task crafting), modify their social interactions (relational crafting) and attribute meaning to what they do (cognitive crafting) to both regulate the intensity of their work in the short term and develop the skills and networks needed to achieve a rewarding career trajectory in the long term. Our discussion of the results puts into perspective the traditional opposition between internal and external employability, particularly when employees’ career paths involve moving from project to project. It also highlights the risks associated with giving individuals excessive responsibility for their own careers. |

Summary, etc. | En se fondant sur une étude de cas et en mobilisant le concept de job crafting, cet article entend contribuer à la littérature sur l’employabilité durable. Nous montrons que les individus peuvent stratégiquement ajuster les tâches qu’ils réalisent (task crafting), modifier leurs interactions sociales (relational crafting) et attribuer un sens à ce qu’ils font (cognitive crafting) pour à la fois réguler l’intensité de leur travail à court terme et développer les compétences et réseaux nécessaires à la réalisation d’une trajectoire professionnelle valorisante à long terme. La discussion des résultats permet de relativiser l’opposition classiquement établie entre employabilité interne et externe, notamment lorsque les trajectoires professionnelles invitent les salariés à se mouvoir de projet en projet. Elle permet également de revenir sur les risques liés à une responsabilisation excessive des individus à l’égard de la conduite de leur propre carrière. |
