| Summary, etc. | On s’efforce d’abord de retracer l’histoire complexe des toponymes dédoublés Plancher-Bas et Plancher-les-Mines (Haute-Saône). Puis, après avoir discuté les étymologies en cours, on propose une solution nouvelle partant de l’ancien français (prélittéraire) *planchier « celui qui fabrique des planches », employé au pluriel pour désigner, antérieurement à l’époque carolingienne, des dépendants chasés de l’abbaye de Lure. |
