| Summary, etc. | Résumél’Espagne est témoin d’un événement unique : de façon assez brutale une génération de mères salariées vivent en même temps que leurs propres mères qui furent, toute la vie, femmes au foyer. L’article se penche sur les relations d’entraide qui se nouent entre ces deux générations à propos de l’arrivée de la troisième. Il montre la force, mais aussi l’ambivalence des solidarités cognatiques. Il montre aussi comment, n’étant aidées ni par leurs compagnons masculins ni par l’État, par leurs réticences à adopter les comportements compassionnels de leurs mères et en refusant d’abandonner le salariat, les jeunes Espagnoles transforment les fondements d’un contrat social implicite. |

| Summary, etc. | Solidarity between the generations in SpainSpain is witnessing a unique event : in a rather sudden fashion a generation of working mothers are living at the same time as their mothers who all their lives were housewives. This article looks at the mutual help that exists between these two generations faced with the arrival of the third, specifically in the case of lone mothers. It shows the strength but also the ambivalence of kinship solidarity. It also shows how, helped by neither their male companions nor by the state, by their reluctance to adopt the compassionate behaviour of their mothers while refusing to abandon waged work young Spanish women are transforming the foundations of an implicit social contract. |
