| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article montre les évolutions qui ont touché la situation et la place des femmes en agriculture, en France, dans un contexte de transformations majeures du monde agricole. De plus en plus de femmes obtiennent des statuts autonomes au sein de la profession agricole, grâce à l’acquisition de compétences professionnelles. Par ailleurs, l’essor des activités de service dans le monde rural (tourisme, accueil, insertion) leur permet de consolider une identité sociale individuelle, qui a toujours été difficile à trouver dans un mode de production agricole fondé sur la famille et le couple. Si du côté des couples agricoles, les rapports sociaux de sexe évoluent, de nombreuses résistances à l’égalité des sexes perdurent au niveau de la profession, qui a du mal à se défaire de son image masculiniste. Ainsi, à l’instar des femmes d’autres catégories sociales, de façon plus silencieuse, les agricultrices françaises sont inscrites dans un mouvement de lutte pour l’égalité des sexes. |

| Summary, etc. | This article shows the evolutions that have affected women in French agriculture, in the context of major transformation in the agricultural sector. More and more women have an autonomous status within the agricultural profession, on the basis of professional qualifications. In addition the growth of service activities in the rural community (tourism, accommodation, insertion) makes it possible for them to construct an individual social identity, which was always difficult in an agricultural mode of production based on the family and the couple. While gender relations are evolving within farming couples, there is a lot of resistance to sexual equality in the profession, which finds it hard to shake off its male image. Thus, like women in other social categories, in a more silent way, French women farmers are involved in the movement struggling for gender equality. |
