| Summary, etc. | Dans son déroulement historique, la philosophie cartésienne a au moins trois commencements : celui de 1619 (la méthode et les mathématiques), celui de 1629-1630 (la physique et la création des vérités éternelles) et celui de 1641 (la philosophie première ou métaphysique). Chacun de ces trois moments est inaugural, mais il renvoie aux deux autres, qui se réfléchissent et se répètent en lui. Partant, la figure propre de la philosophie cartésienne est celle du re-commencement à partir des « premiers fondements », qui sont à la fois ce que cette philosophie a de plus propre – puisqu’elle seule les pense –, et son dehors, puisqu’elle ne les produit pas mais se constitue elle-même comme l’accès ou la découverte de ces proto-objets : Dieu, la nature pensante et la nature corporelle. |

| Summary, etc. | In its historical development, Cartesian philosophy has at least three starting points: 1619 (method and mathematics); 1629-1630 (natural philosophy and the creation of the eternal truths) and 1641 (metaphysics). Each one of these three starting points is an inaugural one, although each depends on and draws on the others. Therefore, the specific shape of Cartesian philosophy lies in the proper act of restarting “a primis fundamentis,” which means that philosophy is the art of discovering the proto-subjects of thought: God, mind, and body. |
